Supernova from 22 Million Light Years

SUPERNOVA IN NGC 6946 - Taken at ASO on May 30 at 930 UT, the new SN is measured at magnitude 12.80; Supernova is marked with the white arrow.  85-second photo by P. Clay Sherrod.  This nova is presently at a plateau in this distant spiral galaxy, 22 million light years distant.
